- Day 1: Arrival, Cape Town – V&A Waterfront
Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to the Victoria & Alfred Hotel. According to your flight time, visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront Shopping Complex. V&A Waterfront is situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town’s working harbour, and it has become South Africa’s most visited destination. Set against a backdrop of magnificent sea and mountain views, exciting shopping and entertainment venues.
- Day 2: V&A Waterfront – Cape Town.
After breakfast, a walk around Cape Point all day, visiting different places and making stops for lunch and dinner to get the feeling of the city. Nowhere else in the world treats you to the level of scenic beauty that’s one offer along the Cape Peninsula. Pass by the city’s famed beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton, before heading to Chapman’s Peak Drive. This impressive 15km route cuts into the jagged mountains surrounding Hout Bay harbour, offering unspoiled views of the Atlantic Ocean. Once you arrive at Cape Point Nature Reserve, you’ve entered the famed South-westernmost point of the African continent. It’s here that famous shipwrecks throughout history have left their skeletons. With hike to the lighthouse take the funicular to the peak. You can have a wonderful site. Many options to stretch your legs on one of the many walks one has to offer, all of which treat you to the local fynbos blooms.
- Day 3: V&A Waterfront – Cape Town.
An interesting day where you will discover why Cape Town continuously tops the lists of must-visit travel destinations on this day-long tour highlighting the bucket list landmarks of the Mother City. We will explore the natural wonders of Table Mountain and Lion’s head, Table Mountain is one of the new seven natural wonders of the world, Table Mountain forms the iconic backdrop to the city of Cape Town and offers spectacular views from the top. The 1,067 metre ascent is made in the aerial cableway, which rotates 360º to give jaw-dropping views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. Once at the top, you can enjoy three easy walks and numerous viewing decks, souvenir shops, and a restaurant and coffee shop. With the option to stretch your legs on the mountain hiking trails, witness the sunrise on the famous ‘table top’ and take in the 360-degree views from the Cableway. Downtown, in what is known as the CBD, you’ll delve into Cape Town’s intricate history and culture, visiting the colourful Bo Kaap neighbourhood, the Castle of Good Hope military fort and the green heart of the city, Company’s Garden.
End the day with quiet sundowners from Signal Hill, where the famous African sunset shines over the Atlantic Seaboard and the city’s beaches and coastline are viewed in all their glory.
- Day 4: Franschhoek Country House & Villas – Franschhoek.
A farewell breakfast at the hotel and be transferred to Franschhoek Country House. Franschhoek is within the inspiring landscapes of the Cape Winelands, Franschhoek is a heritage town and a world-renowned food and wine destination. Travellers could choose to focus their visit on any one aspect alone – nature, cuisine or culture – and find plenty to keep them busy. The estates here attract wine experts from around the globe with their Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cap Classique sparkling wine (among others). Five-star restaurants alongside the cellars are surrounded by the same jaw-dropping valley scenes that have brought artists and writers to the area for centuries. A superb literary festival takes place around May every year, and, combined with the town’s Cape Dutch manor houses, fascinating museums, and charming boutiques, makes Franschhoek a wonderful place to visit in winter. Summer provides endless hiking, cycling and other outdoor opportunities among the lush farmlands and mountains.
Have a picnic lunch at the wine farm and spend the rest of a leisure afternoon enjoying the facilities.
- Day 5: Franschhoek Country House & Villas – Franschhoek.
A fantastic day experiencing wine making from crop to cup. Winemaking is a centuries-old pastime in Cape Town, and there is no shortage of estates that are well known for the craft. You will be introduced to the signature wines of the Constantia, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch regions, and treat you to a bit of history along the way. Customised to your preference, you can choose to focus your trip on tasting your favourite varieties, or experimenting with the locally grown specialities. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the winemaker or take an intimate cellar tour. For the much-loved wine and cheese pairing, or satisfy your sweet tooth with a wine and chocolate tasting. In between glasses, be sure to look for the vineyard’s art collection. Some estates boast galleries or sculpture gardens that feature local and international artists. In addition to award-winning wine, this region also has a number of spectacular restaurants. Let yourself be tempted by the serene surroundings and culinary delights, and enjoy lunch with a view while testing your newfound wine knowledge.
- Day 6: Franschhoek – Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Hoedspruit Airport. Upon arrival in Hoedspruit, you will be transferred towards Timbavati and have your lunch at the lodge.
An evening game drive will be held in Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which is located in Mpumalanga Province. It shares a fenceless border with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. This magnificent 60,000 hectare reserve is best known for its two very rare white lions discovered here in the 1970s, which gave this destination its name. Meaning ‘the place where something sacred came down to earth from the heavens’, the park lives up to the hype with its enthralling African savannah, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. Visitors have the opportunity to see 40 mammal species, 360 bird species and the famous Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo).
- Day 7&8: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
Start the day with a morning game drive in Timbavati, enjoy a daily safari with your guide like bird watching and sight other wildlife.
After lunch and a short break, do an afternoon game drive.
- Day 9: Farewell to South Africa.
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg Airport. Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, you will be assisted through to International Departures for your flight home.
