Arrive in Antananarivo and transfer to your beautiful hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening. Settle in and enjoy the hotel’s charming ambiance as you prepare for the adventure ahead. Take in the panoramic views of the city with its white clouds resting upon an unending stretch of hills.

 

Fly to Morondava and enjoy a beachside stroll, mingling with locals, watching them carry on with their busy life, and joining them in their joy if you meet them playing their local music instruments, singing and dancing. Proceed by driving through the stunning Baobab Avenue, where ancient trees stand like natural sentinels, to reach Kirindy Forest for an evening trek to spot red sportive lemurs and the lemur predator “the fosa”. Later, head to your simple hotel for dinner and a rest.

 

 

Enjoy a morning trek in Kirindy park to spot the wildlife that this dry forest boasts including numerous unique plant species, day lemur species and the Fosa. After this, an adventurous journey to Bekopaka navigating the bumpy roads and passing by interesting villages allows you to learn a lot about the local way of life. Pausing for lunch in the charming village of Belo Tsiribihina, you will then cross the Tsiribihina River by ferry, continuing your drive toward Bekopaka. In the evening, enjoy dinner and a night’s rest in anticipation of tomorrow’s experience of the great Tsingy.

The day brings exploration of the great Tsingy de Bemaraha, an extraordinary landscape made of a breathtaking labyrinth of towering limestone peaks and deep canyons. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a world of its own, where every step reveals something new—whether it’s the sight of rare Decken’s Sifaka lemurs leaping between the rocks or the hidden caves and ancient formations that make this place so unique. Head back to your hotel in the evening to take in the special experience of today and rest.

A peaceful boat ride will take you to caves to learn about formation of stalactites and visit the Vazimba tombs. The Vazimba people are believed to be the original inhabitants of Madagascar, often shrouded in legend and considered ancestors  and prayed to by many Malagasy communities. Proceed to head back to Morondava through a scenic drive through beautiful traditional villages, passing by locals, the famous Zebu carts, crossing rivers, and witnessing the magic embedded in Madagascar’s culture. In the early evening, visit the Baobab Avenue to witness the surreal beauty of sunset as the sky turns golden, making the baobabs even more striking. 

 

 

Wake up to  a sunrise on the sea that make breakfast more enjoyable. Later, head out to visit the fishermen village to learn their culture and traditions and join in the cheer as they sing and dance to folk music. Following this, tour Morondava city, buying beautiful souvenirs at art markets, and enjoy an evening by the blue waters and white sand beaches as you say bye to the east coast.

Transfer back to Antananarivo for a city tour, visiting the Queen’s Palace with its sweeping views over the city and learning about Madagascar’s Kingdom history and its colonization. Later,dive into the bustling markets to discover handcrafted goods, watch people make local delicacies, and get a feeling of the place. 

 

Depart early for a scenic drive to Andasibe, passing through lush green hills dotted with traditional Malagasy villages. On the way, visit the reptile reserve to see chameleons, snakes, and geckos. In the afternoon, have a cultural experience with the locals in Andasibe learning about their traditions, way of life and enjoying folk music with them. End the day with a night trek, where you may hear the eerie calls of the nocturnal indri lemur.

 

In the morning, hike through Analamazaotra Rainforest; the name Analamazaotra comes from the Malagasy language, where Anala means forest and Mazaotra refers to small rivers.  In the park, you will search for the famous Indri-Indri lemurs and other endemic wildlife while walking through the beautiful rainforest with varieties of flora and small rivers. After lunch, return to Antananarivo and check into your hotel  to enjoy dinner and a night’s rest.

 

Conclude your trip with a short city tour, perhaps visiting the crafts market or King’s palace, before heading to the airport for your departure. You will leave with memories of Madagascar’s incredible wildlife, culture, and landscapes.
